Terrazzo is far harder-wearing than timber, so most Singapore homes only need a re-polish every 7-10+ years, depending on foot traffic, the cleaning products used day to day, and whether the surface was sealed properly last time.

Polishing works the existing surface with progressively finer diamond pads to refresh the shine — ideal for dull or lightly etched floors. Grinding removes a thin layer of the terrazzo entirely, needed for deep scratches, old adhesive residue or an uneven surface before refinishing.
Often, yes. Light surface etching from acidic cleaners can usually be honed and re-polished out. Deeper scratches or chipped aggregate may need spot grinding in that section only.
